Interested in being considered for an upcoming event?
SHRM New York State is always looking for innovative, dynamic HR leaders and speakers to fill our conference speaker rosters.
If you’re interested in speaking at any of our events, please review the guidelines below and limit submissions to one proposal per calendar year.
Upon submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Due to the high volume of speaker proposals, we cannot accommodate briefing calls or respond to individual inquiries.

Session Formats
Our annual conference primarily features solo presenter sessions. However, we are open to integrating diverse formats, such as panel discussions, immersive workshops, and spotlight presentations.
- Keynote Session: 60-75 minutes, led by a solo presenter or co-presenters. Presented to the full conference audience.
- Concurrent Session: Up to 60 minutes, led by a solo presenter or co-presenters. Presenting to a smaller audience.
- Mini-Session: 30-60 minutes, led by a solo presenter or co-presenters, focusing on best practices.
- Spotlight Stage: 20-30 minute rapid-fire sessions that provide quick, actionable takeaways.
Speaker Expectations
SHRM New York State is a volunteer-driven organization. To ensure a successful collaboration, speakers must be prepared to meet the following expectations:
- Confirm open availability for the entire conference, preferences for day and time will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
- Work closely with the conference committee, adhering to all deadlines.
- Obtain approval before making significant adjustments to session content, format, audio/visual requirements, room setup or the number of presenters.
- Submit high-quality PowerPoint presentations in electronic format by the designated deadline.
- Understand that sessions are educational, not promotional, and avoid promoting business, services, or products.
- Honor the commitment by arriving on time, ready to present for all scheduled sessions.
- Ensure presentation content and delivery is professional and respectful.
- Represent SHRM New York State positively or neutrally from the platform.
